Review:
Have you ever wanted to watch a typical Magical Girl anime, with cute girls in a sparkling world? ^^
If so, then you maybe shouldn't watch this one. Yes, there are cute girls in weird dresses, who fight against evil witches. But if they all really fight for love and justice, that's a different question.
So no, in this anime the world doesn't work with love and glittery, sparkly moments only. For being able to gain something you will have to give up on something or you might lose something. So what do they gain and lose for becoming a Magical Girl?
At least not a prince on a white horse : P
The animation is great. It reminded me of Bakemonogatari because of the picture details and the sequence of the different scenes and when I checked, Madoka has the same director like Bakemonogatari.
The witches in this anime are interesting for their visual execution. They don't just have a normal human body, no, not anything near a human body. They are pretty much undefinable, an expression or an explosion of creativity? I can't really describe them, but they are another reason why this Magical Girl anime isn't like others, is (I dare to say, even though I haven't seen many Magical Girl animes) better than others, is interesting.
Therefor I can only recommend everybody to not get scared by the "Magical Girl" in the name of the anime and just watch it.
