“Hey Tonmoy, a bunch of my friends and I have created the first anime community in Bangladesh. The thing is, we need a Facebook group, and I don’t know these functions yet. So care to help us out? Make the MazeCity group.”– That is how I was introduced to MazeCity. Contrary to popular belief, MazeCity did not begin with the group itself. MazeCity existed long before that, proving its prominence as a community rather than just a website, or a group or a fan page.
I have been one of the group admins for six years now. These six years have taught me a lot about life, it has been quite unique. I gained a lot of experience with each passing day. MazeCity was my first true public ground where I pushed myself to communicate with people both online and offline, and being the introvert I was back then, that was initially impossible for me to do. I am honestly surprised to realize just how much my personality has changed during this time. Getting introduced to a slew of fresh individuals also meant adjusting to new perspectives and learning to understand things from a different point of view. Not always did I come across someone who respected what I had to say and deemed my opinion anything close to noteworthy. But at the end of the day, what is the point of letting negativity get you down when you have so many supporting comrades by your side? A family was something I had personal issues coming to term with, but as the saying goes– “home is where the heart is,” and my heart is, was and always will be with MazeCity. A legendary family with faithful friends you can even trust your life with; people who will survive just about anything that comes their way, be it the worst of pains and strictest of abuses. You may even compare us to the great Straw Hat Pirates, adventurously sailing together to find One Piece. As long as people love what we love, we will continue providing the common platform for anyone who shares our passion, no matter how different they may be from you, me, or anyone else in our country. Welcome to MazeCity!
